SmarterLink topics try follow the Universal Namespace naming convention.

The general format is composed of the following levels:

  • Protocol Name (smarter-link)
  • Site
  • Area
  • Sub-Area
  • Station
  • SmarterLink Role (eg, Data Producer)
  • SmarterLink Participant Id prefixed with a ~. Must be unique network-wide.
  • Event Name

NOTE: When a level is not relevant it will contain a single _ character. This is done to make it easier to create topic filters.
